Plastic pipe (perforated and tight) and fittings, shall <br /> be Schedule 40 or greater strength and meet the pertinent <br /> requirements of item 481 of the Texas SDHPT Standard <br /> Specifications. <br /> 14-05 CONSTRUCTION: <br /> a. General: <br /> (1) Excavation to lines and grades and subqrade <br /> preparation shall comply with the pertinent requirements of <br /> Specification 2 and Specification 3. Backfill shall be to finish <br /> grades shown on the drawings or as specified in Paragraph 3-07 of <br /> Specification 3. <br /> (2) The filtration/detention pond slopes shall be 4: 1 <br /> (horizontal:vertical). Sand filter shall be cut into undisturbed <br /> soil, sides kept vertical by constructing filter beds as soon as <br /> practicable after the trenching operation. Temporary erosion <br /> control (measured and paid for in Specification 19 of these <br /> specifications) shall be configured to pe~it the construction of <br /> the ponds while maintaining erosion and sedimentation control. <br /> b. Concrete: <br /> (1) Concrete Construction shall be in accordance with <br /> the pertinent requirements of Specification 4-. <br /> (2) The reinforcing steel shall be placed in position as <br /> shown on the drawings. Care shall be exercised to keep all steel <br /> and corrugated metal pipes in their proper position. <br /> ( 3 ) All exposed edges of cOAcretedrainaqe structures <br /> (drop inlets, headwalls, etc.) shall have 3/4" chamfers. The <br /> exposed concrete shall be hair broomed to a unifo~, gritty <br /> surface. The finished concrete .hall be cured by use of an <br /> acceptable curing method. <br /> 14-3 <br />
