All work under this specification is subject to the <br /> applicable Items of the Texas State Department of Highways and <br /> Public Transportation "Standard Specifications for Construction of <br /> Highways, Streets, and Bridges," 1982. <br /> 17-02 SCOPE: <br /> a. This specification shall consist of constructing the <br /> Portland Cement concrete low water crossing with reinforcing steel, <br /> subgrade preparation, corrugated metal arch pipe, and finish to the <br /> lines, grades and details as shown on the drawings and/or as <br /> directed by the Engineer. <br /> 17-03 MATERIALS: <br /> a. Concrete shall be Class C in accordance with Specification <br /> 4, Concrete Work - General. <br /> b. Subgrade preparation shall be in accordance with <br /> Specification 2, Earthwork, and Specification 3, Excavation for <br /> Structures. <br /> c. Reinforcing steel shall be in accordance with the <br /> Specification 4, CoACre~e Wo~k - General. <br /> d. CHU.(corrugated metal arch pipe) as designated on the <br /> drawings shall be Corrugated Galvanized Steel Arch (Polymer Coated) <br /> in accordance with the pertinent requirements of Item 460 of the <br /> Texas SDBPT Standard Specifications. The pipes shall be design <br /> size 4 (35" span 24" rise) shop manufactured from 16 gauge <br /> (minimum) 2 2/3" bye 1/2" corrugations, and shop coated with <br /> bonded polymer. The Contractor shall submit samples and method of <br /> polymer application for approval by Bngineer before ordering CHAP. <br /> e. Coupling banda shall be hot dipped galvanized an polymer <br /> coated, AASHTO Designation II 36, conforming to the requirements of <br /> paragraph 460.5 of Item 460 of the Texas SDHPT Standard <br /> Specifications. Bands shall be 16 gauge, minimum 12" wide, with <br /> a minimum of two (2) 1/2" dia. hot dipped galvanized bolts per <br /> band. <br /> 17-1 <br />
