<br /> 209 <br /> RAMON LUCIO, RIO VISTA, RIO VISTA ANNEX, AND BICENTENNIAL <br /> PARKS RECREATION DEVELOPMENT <br /> TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 17 <br /> LOW WATER CROSSING <br /> 17-04 CONSTRUCTION: <br /> a. General: <br /> (1) Excavation to lines and grades and subgrade <br /> preparation shall comply with the pertinent requirements of <br /> Specification 2 and Specification 3. Backfill shall be to finish <br /> grades shown on the drawings or as specified in Paragraph 3-07. <br /> (2) The subgrade shall be excavated and shaped to line, <br /> grade and cross-section as shown on the plans and/or as directed <br /> by the Engineer. All vegetation and existing structures (concrete <br /> masses and concrete pipe) shall be completely removed within the <br /> area of the construction. The subgrade shall be tamped or rolled <br /> to the density specified in 2-07. <br /> ( 3) The subqrade level shall be excavated to an elevation <br /> which allows for the required thickness of concrete encapsulation <br /> of the- pipes ( 8" min below. pipes) between the subgrade and the <br /> proposed bottom of the concrete structure to be built. See <br /> drawings for specific requirements. <br /> (4) Haterials f'or required fills shall be suitable excess <br /> excavated materials placed in layers which are -not more than six <br /> ( 6) inches in compacted thickness. All fills .hall extend at least <br /> one (1) foot beyond the edges of the finished concrete surface of <br /> the low water crossing, the slopes being as shown on the drawings. <br /> b. Concretes <br /> (1) Concrete Construction shall be in accordance with the <br /> pertinent requirements of Specification 4. <br /> (2) Forma shall be of wood or metal, straight, free from <br /> warp and of a depth equal to the thickness of the finished work. <br /> They shall be securely staked to the line and grade and maintained <br /> in a true position during the depostting and finishing of the <br /> concrete. <br /> 17-2 <br />
