<br /> 210 <br /> RAMON LUCIO, RIO VISTA, RIO VISTA ANNEX, AND BICENTENNIAL <br /> PARKS RECREATION DEVELOPMENT <br /> TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 17 <br /> LOW WATER CROSSING <br /> (3) The reinforcing steel shall be placed in position as <br /> shown on the drawings. Care shall be exercised to keep all steel <br /> and corrugated metal arch pipes in their proper position. <br /> (4) Concrete shall be mixed and delivered in accordance <br /> with Item 421.11 of the Texas SDHPT Standard Specifications, placed <br /> in the forms, upon prewetted subgrade, to the depth specified and <br /> spaded, puddled, vibrated and/or tamped until thoroughly compacted <br /> and mortar covers the top surface. The top surface shall be <br /> floated with a wooden float. <br /> The outer edges of the low water crossing concrete shall be rounded <br /> by the use of an edging tool having a 1/4 inch radius. The final <br /> surface shall be troweled and roughly broomed at right angles to <br /> the length of the road. <br /> (5) The finished concrete shall be cured in accordance <br /> with the requirements of Item 420.21 of the Texas SDHPT Standard <br /> Specifications. <br /> (6) Standard Finish - hair broomed to uniform, gritty <br /> surface. <br /> a. Corrugated Metal Arch Pipe: <br /> (1) The pipe shall be installed in general <br /> conformance with the pertinent requirements of paragraph 460.8 of <br /> Item 460 of the Texas SDHPT. The pipe shall be encapsulated in <br /> concrete a minimum of 8" in all directions around the pipe. Pipe <br /> shall be installed in such a manner that the cut ends, (sloped 3 <br /> horizontal to 1 vertical) are all uniform along the three pipes and <br /> the edges are ground smooth, with the concrete surface flush and <br /> even. Uneven pipe ends or undulating concrete surfaces will be <br /> cause for rejection by Engineer. <br /> 17-05 CLEANUP: <br /> a. After the various concrete placements have been cured in <br /> an acceptable manner as required by Item 420, Paragraph 420.21 of <br /> the Texas SDHPT Standard Specifications, the forms shall be <br /> carefully removed. All form material, chunks, loose concrete shall <br /> be raked up and removed from the site. All honeycomb shall be <br /> 17-3 <br />
