<br /> 220 <br /> RAMON LUCIO, RIO VISTA, RIO VISTA ANNEX, AND BICENTENNIAL <br /> PARKS RECREATION DEVELOPMENT <br /> TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 19 <br /> EROSION CONTROL <br /> If the construction is shut down because of the Contractor's <br /> inability to control water pollution at his/her construction sites, <br /> the Contractor shall not be entitled to additional compensation, <br /> and could be penalized by liquidated damages if inability to <br /> resolve the problems extends the construction effort past the <br /> contract time. <br /> 19-03 MATERIALS (TEMPORARY EROSION CONTROL): <br /> a. Temporary erosion control shall be in accordance with all <br /> of the pertinent requirements of Item 506 of the Texas SDBPT <br /> Standard Specifications. <br /> b. Silt Fences shall be polypropylene fabric or nylon <br /> reinforced with polyester netting with a Mullen burst strength <br /> greater than 150 psi, with edges treated to prevent unraveling. <br /> The fabric shall be supported by minimum 14 gauge of woven wire <br /> fabric with steel fence supports spaced not to exceed 8'. <br /> Contractor shall use silt fence normally designed and accepted for <br /> this purpose by the City of San Marcos. <br /> c. Rock BeJ:mS shall be constructed of open graded rock, with <br /> fines removed. Stone shall be crushed type and typically 3 inches <br /> in diameter and less than 1/2 cubic feet in volume. The rock berm <br /> shall be embedded into the soil a minimum of 4 inches. The berm <br /> shall be 18 inch minima height and have cross sectional slopes of <br /> 2:1 (horizontal:vertical) or flatter and in such a way so as to <br /> have the top line (perpendlcular to flow) at 0\ grade or as near <br /> as pes sible. <br /> 19-04 MATERIALS (PERMANENT EROS ION CONTROL) <br /> a. Permanent erosion control shall be in accordance with all <br /> of the pertinent requirements of Item 164, Seeding for Erosion <br /> Control, of the Texas SDHPT Standard Specifications. Seeding <br /> between September 15 and Karch 1 shall be applied at the rate of <br /> 1 lb. per 1000 square feet of unhulled bermuda and 3 lbs. of winter <br /> rye per 1000 square feet, seeds shall have a purity of 95\ with a <br /> 90\ germination. <br /> Seeding between March 2 and September 14 shall be applied at the <br /> rate of 1 lb. of hulled bermuda grass (cynoden dactolyn) per 1000 <br /> 19-2 <br />
