<br /> 87 <br /> RAMON, LUCIO, RIO VISTA, RIO VISTA ANNEX, AND BICENTENNIAL <br /> PARKS RECREATION DEVELOPMENT <br /> TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS lB <br /> SITE PREPARATION <br /> c. All layout shall be accomplished by a Texas Registered <br /> Public Surveyor, or a person who is an employee of the Contractor <br /> and who has sufficient demonstrated survey experience to conduct <br /> the specified layout work. The Contractor shall prepare a written <br /> statement of the qualifications of the person he proposes to use <br /> in conducting the surveys (layout work). The written statement <br /> specifically shall include pertinent experience of the person he <br /> proposes to assign to the layout tasks. The written statement <br /> shall be submitted to the Engineer for approval prior to the start <br /> of construction operations. <br /> d. Surveys for control of construction: <br /> ( 1) The Contractor shall protect all general reference <br /> points, layout his own work, and be responsible for any error <br /> resulting from his failure to exercise caution. He shall establish <br /> and maintain both horizontal and vertical control for all items of <br /> work. <br /> ( 2) Temporary bench marks will be set c lose enough to any <br /> item of construction for ready reference. These TBM's will be <br /> maintained throughout the construction period. <br /> (3) The Contractor shall set stakes locating and <br /> delineating all items of work at the proper time in the <br /> construction schedule to allow the Engineer to review the location <br /> prior to the actual construction effort. <br /> ( 4) The Contractor shall record all survey data obtained <br /> in bound field notebook(s) furnished by the Engineer. These books <br /> shall be turned over and become the property of the OWner upon the <br /> completion of the work prior to the preparation of the final pay <br /> estimate. ~l entries in the field notebooks shall be neat and <br /> legible, and shall include: <br /> (a) All layout information for underground utilities <br /> constructed or modified as a part of this contract. <br /> (b) Vertical and horizontal layout information for <br /> permanent buried structural elements (such as drilled shaft <br /> pilings. <br /> (c) Vertical and horizontal layout information for <br /> all buildings, and control points for curb and gutter. <br /> (d) All deviations from drawings and specifications. <br /> lB-3 <br />
