<br /> 88 <br /> RAMON, LUCIO, RIO VISTA, RIO VISTA ANNEX, AND BICENTENNIAL <br /> PARKS RECREATION DEVELOPMENT <br /> TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS 1B <br /> SITE PREPARATION <br /> 1B-04 SITE PREPARATION: <br /> a. The construction site shall be prepared for construction <br /> operation by the removal and disposal of all obstructions and <br /> objectionable materials from the designated construction area. Such <br /> obstructions and objectionable materials shall include the removal <br /> of designated trees, bushes, grass, miscellaneous stone, brick, <br /> concrete, scrap iron, all rubbish and debris whether above or below <br /> ground. <br /> b. Prior to grading and subsequent construction operations, <br /> the site shall be cleaned of brush, roots (to a depth of at least <br /> 6" below ground at finish grade, at ground level where subsequent <br /> grading is filled or cut), stumps, chunks, limbs, wire, down <br /> timber, heavy growth of grass and weeds, vines, rubbish, incidental <br /> structures, and all other debris which would be a hindrance to <br /> further construction operations. <br /> c. Materials removed shall be hauled to and disposed of in a <br /> public dumping ground or alternative site approved by the Engineer. <br /> d. The use of explosives is not allowed. <br /> e. Materials or parts of structures which are on the site and <br /> are designated as surplus shall become the property of the <br /> Contractor. Any disposal plans shall be approved by the Engineer. <br /> f. Existing structures which are to be abandoned shall be <br /> broken off or removed to a depth of not less than 1 foot below the <br /> foundation or subgrade of the new work. <br /> NOTE: The Contractor shall exercise due care to avoid damage to <br /> trees and other existing features which are to remain through all <br /> construction operations. Contractor is contractually obligated to <br /> protect trees froa equipment by wrapping tree trunks with .2 by wood <br /> stock ( or any other method approved by Engineer). If damage is <br /> sustained by trees, it shall be repaired at the contractor's <br /> expense following the best horticultural practices. <br /> 1B-4 <br />
