<br /> 90 <br /> RAMON LUCIO, RIO VISTA, RIO VISTA ANNEX, AND BICENTENNIAL <br /> PARKS RECREATION DEVELOPMENT <br /> TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS 2 <br /> EARTHWORK <br /> 2-01 GENERAL: <br /> a. All work under this specification is subject to the <br /> applicable I tams of the Texas State Department of Highways and <br /> Public Transportation "Standard Specifications for Construction of <br /> Highways, Streets and Bridges," 1982. <br /> 2-02 SCOPE: <br /> a. The work includes furnishing all materials, equipment, <br /> tools, labors, appliances, maintenance during the construction <br /> period, and performing all operations necessary to perform the <br /> following: <br /> (1) Preparation of subgrade for roadway and parking lot <br /> construction. <br /> (2) Roadway excavation including the removal and proper <br /> utilization or disposal of all excavated materials; and the <br /> constructing, shaping, and finishing of all earthwork on the entire <br /> length of roadways and parking lots and approaches to same in <br /> accordance with the required lines, grades, and typical cross <br /> sections and profiles shown on the drawings. <br /> (3) Placement of embankment for roadway construction with <br /> delivered borrow materials (if required). <br /> (4) Placement of structural embankment for buildin(]s <br /> (restroom buildings and group shelter) construction with materials <br /> as specified in the Earthwork paragraph of Specification 8 (Group <br /> Shelter) and Specification 11 (Restroom Buildings) of these <br /> specifications. <br /> 2-03 FIELD lŒASUREJŒNTS: <br /> a. Carefully establish base lines for layout of the work. <br /> Accurately layout roadway (entrance roads), parking lots, and <br /> building lines and erect substantial batter boards and/or grade <br /> stakes at points where they will Rot be disturbed during the <br /> construction of foundations. Sufficient temporary bench marks shall <br /> be established and maintained for control of the work. <br /> 2-1 <br />
