<br /> III <br /> RAMON LUCIO, RIO VISTA, RIO VISTA ANNEX, AND BICENTENNIAL <br /> PARKS RECREATION DEVELOPMENT <br /> TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 6 <br /> ASPHALTIC PAVEMENT <br /> 6-01 GENERAL: <br /> a. All work under this specification is subject to the <br /> applicable Items of the Texas State Department of Highways and <br /> Public Transportation "Standard Specifications for Construction of <br /> Highways, Streets, and Bridges," 1982. <br /> 6-02 SCOPE: <br /> a. The work consists of preparing subgrade, furnishing and <br /> placing select base material, and furnishing and placing a hot mix <br /> asphaltic concrete surface on roads. <br /> b. New paving shall be matched to existing paving to provide <br /> a smooth transition without mismatch. <br /> c. All work shall conform to the appropriate Texas State <br /> Department of Highways and Public Transportation Standard <br /> Specifications. <br /> 6-03 PREPARATION OF SUBGRADE: <br /> a. Areas to receive paving shall have been cleared of all <br /> existing obstructions, and excavated, filled and/or compacted to <br /> a total depth of 10" below finish grades under other sections of <br /> these specifications. <br /> b. The subgrades shall have been excavated and shaped in <br /> conformity with the grading shown on the drawings and required by <br /> the profiles shown on the drawings and in accordance with the <br /> pertinent requirements of Specification IB, Site Preparation of <br /> these specifications. All unstable or other objectionable material <br /> shall have been removed from the subgrade and replaced with <br /> approved material. All holes, ruts, and depressions shall have been <br /> filled with approved materials. <br /> c. The subbase shall be constructed of acceptable excavated <br /> material (properly compacted), or delivered borrow material, <br /> properly worked and compacted in accordance with the pertinent <br /> requirements of Specification 2, Earthwork of these specifications. <br /> 6-1 <br /> ~ <br />
