<br /> 113 <br /> RAMON LUCIO, RIO VISTA, RIO VISTA ANNEX, AND BICENTENNIAL <br /> PARKS RECREATION DEVELOPMENT <br /> TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 6 <br /> ASPHALTIC PAVEMENT <br /> 6-06 HOT MIX ASPHALTIC CONCRETE PAVEMENT: <br /> a. The hot mix asphaltic pavement (H.M.A.C.) shall meet the <br /> requirements of the Texas Highway Department Item 340 (except <br /> paragraphs 340.7 and 340.8) for Type "C" H.M.A.C. for all <br /> materials, methods of placement, and equipment. <br /> b. H.M.A.C. shall have a minimum 2" compacted thickness. <br /> H.M.A.C. shall be compacted to a minimum of 90% maximum theoretical <br /> density (provided by laboratory for the design mix used) conforming <br /> to Tex227-F prior to H.M.A.C. temperature dropping below 115 <br /> degrees. Acceptable compacted B.X.A.C. shall have air voids between <br /> 3' and 7%. <br /> c. Construction Methods shall comply with the pertinent <br /> portions of paragraph 340.6 of Item 340 of the Texas SDHPT Standard <br /> Specifications. <br /> 6-07 SURFACE VARIATIONS: <br /> a. The pavement after being rolled shall be even and smooth <br /> and shall have a maximum surface variation of 3/4" in 10 feet when <br /> tested with a straight edge. <br /> 6-08 EQUIPMENT: <br /> a. Equipment necessary for the efficient and expeditious <br /> accomplishment of the required. wor,k shall be ,on hand in good <br /> condi tion and shall be approved by Engineer before the work is <br /> started. <br /> 6-09 PAINT SftIPIBGI <br /> a. Asphaltic Concrete surface shall be cured a minimum of 30 <br /> days before applying paint striping. Contractor shall stripe <br /> parking areas as shown on the drawings, to include the handicapped <br /> symbol at each handicapped stall. Paint all stripes and symbols <br /> with two coats of traffic paint. Traffic Paint shall meet Federal <br /> Specification TT-P-115a (Class B) or better. Line width shall be <br /> 4" wide, uniform and straight. Handicapped symbol shall be in <br /> accordance with grid attached to the end of these specifications. <br /> Contractor shall allow at least 24 hours drying time between coats. <br /> 6-3 <br />
