<br /> 128 <br /> RAMON LUCIO, RIO VISTA, RIO VISTA ANNEX, AND BICENTENNIAL <br /> PARKS RECREATION DEVELOPMENT <br /> TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 8 <br /> GROUP SHELTER <br /> 8-09 CARPENTRY AND MILLWORK: <br /> a. This section is intended to cover carpentry, millwork, and <br /> related i tams necessary to complete work shown on plans and/or <br /> herein specified. Contractor shall furnish all materials, labor, <br /> and equipment necessary to complete the work including rough <br /> hardware, installation of finish hardware, and miscellaneous <br /> specialty items. <br /> b. Laminated Beams shall be precut and fabricated with <br /> southern pine lumber and waterproof resorcinol adhesive in <br /> accordance with the AITC standards. The beams shall be pressure <br /> treated by a CCA (Wolmanized) process to a retention of 0.6 pounds <br /> per cubic foot. The laminated wood beams shall carry an AITC <br /> Certificate of Conformance. <br /> c. The Roof Deck shall be 2"x6", #1 grade or better, single <br /> tongue and groove with V joint bottom face, kiln-dried southern <br /> pine. Decking shall be free of checks, knot holes, and other <br /> imperfections. Contractor shall hand select all lumber for proper <br /> grading. <br /> d. Fascia shall be 2"x6" fascia, southern pine, #1 grade or <br /> better. <br /> e. The Roof System shall be 'designed to withstand 30 psf live <br /> load and 20 psf wind load. <br /> f. Lumber Grading Requirements: <br /> (1) Hoiature Content: Framing lumber not to exceed 19% <br /> and finish lumber and millwork not to exceed 12%. <br /> ( 2 ) Grade and Trade Work: Lumber will be graded in <br /> accordance with latest grading rules and manufacturer's association <br /> under which rules lumber is produced and bear the grade and trade <br /> mark of the association. <br /> (3) Quality: Lumber must be sound, thoroughly seasoned, <br /> well manufactured, and free from warp which cannot be corrected by <br /> bridging or nailing. Woodwork exposed to view or exterior of <br /> building and interior trim shall be dressed (S48). <br /> 8-9 <br />
