Wall receptacles shall conform to the requirements of <br /> Federal Specification W-C-596, type and style as specified. <br /> Heavy duty receptacles shall be of the single type having capacity <br /> to carry the rated load continuously without damage and shall be <br /> furnished with a suitable cord-grip cap. Duplex convenience <br /> receptacles installed in spaces subject to being damp or wet shall <br /> be Type II, Style No. 130, 3 pole, 3 wire, with the third pole <br /> grounded, rated 10 amperes at 250 volts and 15 amperes at 125 <br /> volts. Receptacles shall conform to the above referenced Federal <br /> Specification. <br /> 9-08 WALL SWITCHES: <br /> a. Wall switches shall be of the totally enclosed 120/277 volt <br /> AC quiet tumbler type. Enclosures shall be of phenolic composition. <br /> Not more than one switch shall be installed in a single gang <br /> posi tion of a switch box. Single-pole switches shall be of tumbler <br /> type, with silver plated contacts for the control of tungsten <br /> filament lamp loads. Switches shall have an ampere rating for the <br /> connected lamp loads indicated on the drawings as follows: <br /> Ampere Non-Inductive Load Inductive Load <br /> Rating in Watts in Watts <br /> 15 1800 or Less 1200 or Less <br /> 20 1601 to 2400 Incl. 1201 to 1800 Incl. <br /> Where switches with pilot lights are indicated on the drawings, the <br /> combinations shall consist of a switch, as specified above, with <br /> a yoke mounted candelabra base socket rated at 75 watts, 125 volts, <br /> and fitted with a glass or plastic jewel. A clear 6 watt lamp <br /> shall be furnished and installed in each pilot switch. Jewels for <br /> use with switches controlling motors shall be colored red and, for <br /> other purposes, green. <br /> 9-09 SERVICE EQUIPHENT: <br /> a. Main service disconnecting means shall be of the switch and <br /> fuse panel type or fusible safety switches, as shown on the <br /> drawings. The units shall be enclosed in a code-gage, sheet-steel <br /> cabinet sui table for surface mounting as indicated on the drawings. <br /> 9-7 <br />
