<br /> ., . 4 <br /> lq. <br /> RAMON LUCIO, RIO VISTA, RIO VISTA ANNEX, AND BICENTENNIAL <br /> PARKS RECREATION DEVELOPMENT <br /> TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 10 <br /> EXTERIOR ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS <br /> 10-03 MATERIALS: <br /> a. Materials shall conform to the Specification 9 and other <br /> requirements specified below. <br /> b. The equipment to be furnished by the Contractor under <br /> this specification shall be essentially a standard product of the <br /> manufacturer whose equipment is bid. When two or more units of the <br /> same kind and class of equipment are required, these units shall <br /> be the products of the same manufacturer; however, component parts <br /> need not be products of the same manufacturer. <br /> c. As soon as practicable and before starting installation <br /> of any materials or equipment, the Contractor shall submit to the <br /> Engineer, for approval a complete list in triplicate of materials <br /> and equipment proposed for installation. The list shall include <br /> manufacturer's names and equipment identification such as style, <br /> type, or catalog numbers, to permit ready and complete <br /> identification as an approved equal. Catalog cut sheets for each <br /> component, bound together, shall be submitted for approval. <br /> d. Approval of materials shall be based on manufacturer's <br /> published data. The label or listing of the Underwriter's <br /> Laboratories, Inc., will be accepted as evidence that materials or <br /> equipment conform to the applicable standards of that agency. In <br /> lieu of this listing, the Contractor shall submit a statement from <br /> a nationally recognized testing agency indicating the such items <br /> have been tested in accordance with the required procedures and <br /> that the materials and equipment comply with the contract <br /> requirements. <br /> e. All wire above trench grade shall be installed in rigid <br /> galvanized heavy wall steel conduit minimum 1/2" dia. with <br /> galvanized threads and fittings. <br /> f. All conductors shall be of wire size not less than 12 AWG <br /> or as noted on the drawings or as required by codes. All wires <br /> shall be copper wire unless otherwise approved by Engineer, and <br /> only stranded wires of aluminum of equal ampacity will be <br /> considered where otherwise copper wire i8 not readily available. <br /> All wire shall be 600 volt type 'l'HW or THWH insulation, continuous <br /> between boxes without welds, splices, or joints throughout its <br /> length. <br /> 10-2 <br />
