Furnish samples and laboratory report certification that <br /> units have been steam cured in autoclaves in accordance with <br /> requirements of the Texas Concrete Masonry Association. Include the <br /> cost of all special shapes and sizes required including the cost <br /> of cutting and grinding. <br /> (3) Mortar: Use Type N mortar composed of one part <br /> Portland Cement, one part hydrated lime and 5 parts sand, by <br /> volume. Optional use, one part masonry cement, 3 parts sand, by <br /> volume. Measure sand damp and loose. <br /> c. Laying Block: <br /> (1) Lay block plumb, level, or true to a line, in running <br /> bond, or as indicated on drawings. Align on exposed face or as <br /> indicated on drawings. Exposed cells, cracked block, and broken <br /> block are not permitted. <br /> (2) Concrete block walls and partitions shall be <br /> reinforced horizontally AND vertically as shown on the drawings. <br /> The strips shall be the proper width for the total thickness of the <br /> wall in which used, in maximum lengths, with ends lapped a minimum <br /> of 6". Bed wires in mortar beds to produce complete cover and bond. <br /> (3) Place reinforcing in the first bed joint above base <br /> block course and in bed joint locations to provide a maximum <br /> vertical spacing of 16" o.c. <br /> (4) Reinforce bond beams, as indicated, with bars lapped <br /> and protected. <br /> (5) Pill bond beams with not less than 3000 psi concrete <br /> not more often than every third course. Heet applicable <br /> requirements specified for Concrete Work. <br /> (6) Place vertical reinforcement at center of each cell <br /> of 8"x8"x16" two cell concrete masonry units (8" on center) and <br /> between brick and adjoining face of 4"x8"x16" concrete masonry <br /> units (8" on center). Pill all masonry cells with not less than <br /> 3000 psi concrete (modification of gravel size will be allowed to <br /> 11-5 <br />
