<br /> -2- <br /> (5) On-premise signs up to 8 square feet in area. Only two <br /> of these signs may be used on each street frontage of a <br /> premlses. <br /> ( 6) Unlit letters, numbers, or symbols up to 24 inches in <br /> height that form an architectural detail of a <br /> building. <br /> (7) Signs facing the interior of athletic stadiums or <br /> fields, or facing the exterior of athletic stadiums or <br /> fields operated by non-profit organizations or <br /> governmental entities. <br /> (8) Unlit signs up to 32 square feet in area, on the <br /> premises of a governmental, religious, educational, or <br /> other noncommercial institution which function solely as <br /> community information signs. <br /> ( 9) Signs displayed on a currently licensed vehicle in <br /> operable condition. <br /> (10) Signs displayed on a vehicle for the sole purpose of <br /> advertising the vehicle for sale, lease or hire. <br /> (ll) Signs consisting of a plaque or historical marker <br /> commemorating a person, event, structure, or site. <br /> (12) Governmental signs. <br /> (13) Temporary signs customarily associated with any <br /> national, state, local, or religious holiday. <br /> (14) Signs on vending machines, gasoline pumps, and amusement <br /> equipment pertaining to the function of such facilities. <br /> (15) Signs carried by humans. <br /> (16) Signs displayed by aircraft in flight. <br /> (17) Spotlighting, landscaping features, and works of fine <br /> art which display no words or symbols of a commercial <br /> nature. <br /> (18) Unlit attached signs up to 32 square feet in area on <br /> trailers or portable buildings containing an accessory <br /> use temporarily located on the premises, provided that <br /> the signs pertain to the use of the trailer or portable <br /> building. <br />Sec. 1-4. Prohibited Signs. <br /> <br />The following signs are prohibited: <br /> (1) Signs which have any visible part which moves, swings or <br /> rotates, except for banners and flags, and swlnglng <br /> signs up to 10 square feet in area constructed of rigid <br /> material hanging by hinges or other flexible connection. <br /> (2) Signs containing flashing, blinking, or traveling lights <br /> except for automatic changing signs which function <br /> partly as community information signs. <br /> (3) Signs which emit odor, visible matter, or audible sound. <br />Sec. 1-5. Address designation. <br /> <br />Each developed premises or occupancy which has an assigned street <br />address shall have the street address numerals displayed in a <br />manner which is readable from the street upon which it is <br />addressed. <br />
