<br /> -5- <br /> to 5 percent of the area of the facade on which they are <br /> located; <br /> (C) Office/professional, agricultural, business park, <br /> industrial, and institutional uses may have signs with a <br /> total aggregate area of up to lO percent of the area of <br /> the facade on which they are located; <br /> (D) Commercial uses may have signs with a total aggregate <br /> area of up to 15 percent of the area of the facade on <br /> which they are located; and, <br /> (E) Premises containing two or more uses having different <br /> standards under this section shall have the allowable <br /> area determined by the use allowing the greater area. <br />Sec. 2-2. On-Premise Freestanding Signs. <br /> <br />Permanent on-premise freestanding signs shall be subject to the <br />following standards: <br />( 1) The number of such signs on a premises shall be limited to <br /> one per street frontage or one per driveway, whichever is <br /> greater. The following shall not be counted in this <br /> limitation: <br /> (A) Directional signs up to 12 square feet in area provided <br /> the number of such signs does not exceed the number of <br /> driveways; and, <br /> (B) Subdivision identification signs in accordance with this <br /> Section. <br />(2) The height shall not exceed 42-1/2 feet along the highway <br /> corridor, and Texas Highways 123, 21 and 80; 35 feet along <br /> all designated major arterials other than the highway <br /> corridor, Texas Highways 123, 21 and 80; and 25 feet in all <br /> other locations. Freestanding signs within 10 feet of any <br /> property line shall not exceed 4 feet in height unless <br /> displayed on a permitted fence or wall. Signs greater than 6 <br /> feet in height must be reviewed by the San Marcos Electric <br /> Utility for proper clearance from power lines. <br />(3) The area of each sign shall not exceed 260 square feet in the <br /> highway corridor, and 160 square feet in all other locations, <br /> except for freestanding multiple-occupancy signs in <br /> accordance with this section. <br />(4) Agricultural uses, and single-family, two-family, and mobile <br /> home residential uses, may have only those signs exempted in <br /> Section 1-3, and subdivision identification signs in <br /> accordance with this Section. <br />(5) A multiple-occupancy premises may have a sign having an area <br /> up to: <br /> (A) 80 square feet, plus 20 square feet per tenant <br /> advertised on the sign, or 260 square feet, whichever <br /> is greater, when located in the highway corridor; or, <br /> (B) 50 square feet, plus 10 square feet per tenant <br /> advertised on the sign, or 160 square feet, whichever is <br /> greater, in all other locations. <br />( 6) A subdivision identification sign up to 96 square feet in <br /> area and 4 feet in height, may be displayed on private <br /> property or in the public right-of-way at a street entrance <br /> to the subdivision in addition to other freestanding signs <br /> permitted by this Section. If located in the right-of-way, <br /> the sign shall be subject to the following requirements: <br />
