<br /> 3 <br /> tendencies to attack or to bite persons or other <br /> animals; <br /> (c) has been certified by a veterinarian, after <br /> observation, as posing a danger to persons, <br /> animals, or property upon the basis of a <br /> reasonable medical probability; or <br /> (d) threatens or commits an unprovoked attack upon a <br /> person or animal on public or private property. <br /> wild Animal: Any animal normally found in the wild <br /> state, including snakes and other reptiles. <br /> Zooloqical Ðark: Any place or facility where wild <br /> animals are kept for the purpose of display or <br /> exhibition; provided that such facilities operated by any <br /> governmental agency shall not be included in this term. <br /> Sec. 3-2. Animal Control Officer. <br /> (a) The chief of police shall appoint a chief animal <br /> control officer and an assistant or assistants. The <br /> chief animal control officer and the assistant or <br /> assistants shall be under the supervision and <br /> control of the chief of police. <br /> (b) It shall be the duty of the chief animal control <br /> off icer to enforce all provisions of this chapter <br /> relating to the care, control and impoundment of <br /> animals and to establish policies for the operation <br /> of the city animal saelter. <br /> (c) All animal control officers are authorized to issue <br /> citations to the owner of any animal found to be in <br /> violation of any provision of this chapter or state <br /> laws. <br /> (d) No person shall interfere with or hinder any animal <br /> control officer in the performance of any official <br /> duty of the officer. <br /> Sec. 3-3 - 3-10. Reserved. <br /> ARTICLE II. LICENSES <br /> Sec. 3-11. Licenses Required. <br /> <br /> (a) The owner of any dog or cat over four (4) months of <br /> age and residing wi thin the city shall obtain a license <br /> annually for the dog or cat in compliance with this article. <br /> (b) No dog or cat shall be licensed unless it has a <br /> current rabies vaccination as prescribed by Section 3-57 of <br /> this chapter. <br /> Sec. 3 -12. Same-AÐplication. <br /> <br /> (a) Application for a license shall be made at the city <br /> animal shelter or at any local veterinarian's office upon a <br /> form as prescribed by the chief animal control officer, <br /> accompanied by a copy of the animal's current valid <br /> vaccination certificate, and by paYment of a license fee as <br /> prescribed herein. <br />
