Much of the ESL and GED tutoring takes place
during walk-in hours. Walk-in hours will be expanded
from 20 to 25 hours a week under the new grant, Literacy
students who need one-on-one instruction will continue to
meet with their tutors at mutually convenient times,
Individualized instruction will also be available to
beginning ESL students and GED students who cannot come
during our walk-in hours,
Due to a lack of staffing we currently do very limited
assessment and tracking of student needs. Under the new
grant the Project Coordinator will have more time for
this important service, He will assess needs and
abilities of students, assist in setting short and long
term goals, and provide referrals to students when
appropriate,
