Expansion of the library's social service information
services to include information about vocational training
programs and related employment services,
Currently the library is developing a social services
information center, a social services directory and a
Social Services Fair, These projects have brought us
into contact with many agencies in the area which supply
job-related and vocational services to disadvantaged
populations, In FY 1989-90 we plan to expand the scope
of our social services information service to include
information about local vocational training programs and
related employment services. These services will help our clients develop
professional resumes while developing computer skills,
G, Provision of free seminars on how to use the library as a
resource for finding employment and developing job search
skills.
The library currently has many materials which are
helpful to the job seeker, These materials will be
consolidated and expanded through the creation of the Job
Information Center. The Project Coordinator will
familiarize himself with these resources and provide at
least six seminars designed to instruct clients on the
use of the public library as a job information resource.
These seminars will teach universal library skills which
are transferable to public libraries everywhere.
