<br />48 <br />Regular Meeting February 13, 1984 Page 2 <br />Mr. Guerra moved the Council adjourn into Executive Session to dis- <br />cuss the above listed items, less the appointments to the Commission <br />for Women and to the Reinvestment Zone Number One, and Mr. Brown <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously (7:37 p.m.) <br />Mr. Farr moved to convene at 8:35 p.m. and Ms. Kissler seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration the appointment of fifteen <br />members to the Commission for Women. Prior to the meeting the Council <br />Members had given the City Secretary a list of names to be considered <br />and Mayor Craddock read the names into the record: Melissa Millecam, <br />Margaret Lindsey, Cindy Medina, Susan Day, Margie Hernandez, Dolores <br />Crittendon, Mary Cauble, Irma (Mimi) Guitan, Amanda Ruiz, Kate Fitz- <br />patrick Moore, Martha St.Clair, Betty Wolverton, Rosemary Suniga, <br />Karen Walker and Jaime Moore supplied one more name to this list to <br />complete the fifteen names to be considered, Deborah Stewart. Mr. <br />Guerra moved for the appointment of all fifteen names and Ms. Kissler <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. With the consensus <br />of Council, Mayor Craddock advised that Lunelle Anderson who is a <br />member of the State of Texas Commission for Women would serve as a <br />liaEon to the City's Commission for Women. <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration action on matters considered <br />in Executive Session. No action was required and this item was passed. <br />Mayor Craddock introduced a discussion of the Reinvestment Zone Number <br />One, City of San Marcos, Texas (JASBA) Ordinance amendments. At a <br />recent workshop held jointly with members of the School Board and <br />County Commissioners, there had been a discussion regarding the com- <br />position of the Reinvestment Zone Number One Board. The Council dis- <br />cussed the possibility of the City having two members, the School <br />having two members and the County having one member appointed to the <br />Board. Jane Woods advised the Council there must be at least five <br />members serving on the Board. John Kreczmer stated he favored a seven- <br />member Board. Mr. Guerra favors a Board comprised of 3 appointments <br />by the City, 2 appointments by the School and 2 appointments by the <br />County. Mayor Craddock directed amendments be prepared and presented <br />to the Council. Since the Board has to be appointed by February 27, <br />1984 for Ordinance 1983-80 to be effective, the Council directed meetings <br />be scheduled February 14, 15 and 16 for the readings of the amendments <br />to the Ordinance. <br />Mayor Craddock opened a public hearing to consider approval of a Zon- <br />ing Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE <br /> WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE <br /> OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED SEPTEMBER <br /> 29, 1980 (VOL. 54) BY ZONING 49.57 ACRES OF LAND, <br /> MORE OR LESS, IN THE BENJAMIN J. FORSYTH SURVEY AND THE LYDIA GLASCOW SURVEY, <br /> IN HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, A/K/A 1921 RANCH ROAD 12, TO <br /> "PUD" (PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT), 47.24 ACRES FROM <br /> "AO" (AGRICULTURAL-OPEN SPACE DISTRICT) AND 2.33 <br /> ACRES FROM "c" (COMMERCIAL DISTRICT). <br />Mayor Craddock asked if anyone wished to speak in favor of the zoning <br />request.
