<br /> 4. Conduct training sessions to explain the concepts of <br /> affirmative action to managerial and supervisory <br /> employees. <br /> S. Analyze and remove artificial and physical barriers in <br /> job descriptions which may tend to discriminate against <br /> protected classes. <br /> 6. Report annually to the City Manager, the City Council <br /> and the Minority Commission, regarding the status of the <br /> Affirmative Action Program. <br /> 7. Serve as a liaison between the City, government <br /> regulatory agencies, minority and women's organizations <br /> and other community groups. <br /> 8. Ensure that current legal information affecting <br /> affirmative action is desseminated to management and <br /> supervisory employees. <br /> 9. Submit all EEO reports yearly. <br /> 10. Insure that the City of San Marcos Personnel Policies, <br /> the recruitment process, testing, job requirements, <br /> training and employee benefits will be reviewed and <br /> updated periodically to comply with the Federal, State <br /> and City laws, ordinances and regulations. <br /> 11. Insure that all testing is performed under the direction <br /> of the Human Resources Department. No department will <br /> administer a test to any applicant without prior <br /> approval of the Director of Human Resources. <br /> 12. Insure that benefits are provided to all City employees <br /> on an equal basis. <br /> 13. Insure that similarly qualified employees performing <br /> substantially the same work under comparable conditions <br /> receive equal salary. <br /> 14. Insure that appropriate EEO posters are displayed at all <br /> work sites. <br /> IS. Actively support the local Vocational Office Education <br /> Program through employment opportunities. <br /> 16. Publicize awards and promotions received by minority and <br /> female employees in the local newspaper. <br /> 17. Actively support the G.E.D. program through Tuition <br /> Reimbursement Program. <br /> IS. Support high school career day and local job fairs. <br /> 19. In designing new buildings or remodeling old facilities, <br /> special consideration shall be given, insofar as is <br /> economically and physically practicable, to the removal <br /> of architectural barriers to the handicapped. Existing <br />
